Palafitas P Porcelain Pot (h13 cm) - Holaria
RRP incl. 19% VAT
Palafitas are precarious constructions made by poor people in flooded regions - very common in tropical countries. They are not the postcard landscapes that the societies where they occur would like to present, and are a demonstration that something is not right in the processes of wealth distribution. Our eyes pay attention to the aesthetic power of the juxtaposition of materials, textures, and colors (it is impossible not to remember the iconic "Favela" by the Campana Brothers, one of the seminal creations of Brazilian design), but here we filter through the monochrome of porcelain - like a million little eternalite roofs put together... In real life people live underneath them, but sadly porcelain is a blank sheet of paper where there is always room to write more.
